🤫How do you (really) feel about your yoga practice?

"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance."

– Alan Watts

The last few emails and podcasts have unpacked why change is so challenging. Now, let's explore what to do about it.

To make change more bearable (and transformable) you need 3 things:

  • Rewire your nervous system and self-generate safety.

  • Embrace change to move from force into power.

  • Transform your identity so the new thing is not just something you do, it’s who you are.

Yoga asana is extraordinary for developing these. But is your practice still doing it for you? Is yoga asana tee-ing you up for transformation? Are you having breakthroughs like you did in the beginning?

If not, what happened?

I believe the power of yoga has diminished because studio classes have strayed too far from tradition, discipline and education. The practice was intended to be more like a martial art and less like step-aerobics.

Next week, I’ll share what made the tradition powerful and what needs to be brought back. Until then, I’d love to hear from you. How do you feel about your practice these days? What is your experience in classes? Do you want MORE from your practice?

Hit reply and send me your real and raw notes. I read every one.

May your practice be transformational,

Alison
